Natural Alternatives to IVF UK
Conscious Conception & Fertility with Claire Anstey
If you are considering IVF, have been recommended IVF, or have been through IVF and are looking for something different, you are in the right place.
IVF is a remarkable medical achievement and for many people it is the right path. But it is not the only path. And for a significant number of people it is not the path they want to take, at least not yet, not again, or not without exploring what else is available first.
The decision of whether and when to pursue IVF is deeply personal. What we offer at Conscious Conception & Fertility with Claire Anstey is not an argument against IVF. It is an invitation to consider what else exists. What natural, complementary, and deeply integrative approaches are available that work at dimensions of health and wellbeing that IVF does not address.
Why People Look for Alternatives to IVF
People arrive at this page from many different starting points.
Some have been recommended IVF as a first line response to a diagnosis and want to explore natural options before committing to a medicated cycle. Some have been through one or more IVF cycles without success and are looking for something that might shift what has not yet shifted. Some have concerns about the physical, emotional, or financial cost of IVF and want to know what else is available. Some simply feel that IVF is not right for them and are looking for a path that honours that instinct.
All of these are valid. All of these are worth taking seriously.
The Limitations of IVF
IVF is a powerful tool within its scope. It addresses the mechanics of fertilisation and implantation with extraordinary precision. But its scope has limits.
It does not address the state of the nervous system and the chronic stress response that can suppress reproductive function over time. It does not address the subconscious beliefs held about fertility, parenthood, worthiness, and the body. It does not address the ancestral patterns and inherited emotional landscapes that shape how we relate to conception. It does not address the energetic field and anything held there that may be affecting the path forward.
It also does not address the emotional and psychological weight that accumulates over a fertility journey. The grief, the fear, the self doubt, the exhaustion. These are not peripheral factors. They are central to the fertility picture and they are addressable.
And IVF carries significant financial, physical, and emotional costs. A single cycle in the UK typically costs between £5,000 and £8,000. The physical demands of a medicated cycle are considerable. And the emotional impact of a failed cycle is profound and frequently underestimated.
Acupuncture as a Natural Fertility Approach
Acupuncture is one of the most researched complementary approaches in the fertility space and one of the most widely used natural alternatives and complements to IVF.
A peer reviewed meta-analysis published in the Archives of Gynecology and Obstetrics analysing data from 25 trials involving 4,757 participants found that acupuncture significantly improved clinical pregnancy rates and live birth rates. The clinical pregnancy rate was 43.6% in the acupuncture group compared to 33.2% in the control group, and the live birth rate was 38.0% versus 28.7%.

A further 2025 systematic review and meta-analysis published in the International Journal of Nursing Studies analysing 39 trials involving 7,188 participants confirmed that acupuncture significantly improves clinical pregnancy rates and reproductive outcomes for women undergoing IVF compared with control groups.

A large scale analysis of 145 randomised controlled trials involving 27,748 participants published in 2025 found that the overall clinical pregnancy rate was significantly elevated in acupuncture groups compared to control groups.

The Fertility Boost Programme incorporates the IAKP Fertility Acupuncture Point Sequence from Session 2 onwards — a tried and tested three part protocol developed by the International Association of Kambo Practitioners drawing on thousands of years of Traditional Chinese Medicine wisdom.
Hypnotherapy as a Natural Fertility Approach
Hypnotherapy is one of the most evidence supported complementary approaches available for those on a fertility journey and one of the most powerful natural alternatives and complements to IVF.
The relationship between chronic stress and reproductive function is one of the most researched areas in fertility medicine. Hypnotherapy addresses this relationship directly, working with the subconscious mind, the nervous system, and the deeply held beliefs and patterns that shape the fertility picture in ways that no medical intervention can reach.
A landmark study published in Fertility and Sterility, the journal of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, found that the use of hypnosis during embryo transfer significantly improved IVF outcomes. The clinical pregnancy rate in the hypnosis group was 53.1% compared to 30.2% in the control group.

A study published in the Journal of the American Women's Association found that 42% of 132 infertile women in a mind body programme using hypnotherapy techniques conceived within six months of completing it. A follow up study found that 55% of previously infertile women who regularly used such a mind body programme conceived, compared to 20% of the control group who did not.
A 2023 peer reviewed paper published in the Arts and Humanities Open Access Journal concluded that hypnotherapy is a valuable complementary intervention in fertility support, helping individuals manage the emotional aspects of the fertility journey, reduce stress, and support overall mental and emotional wellbeing.

Conscious Conception Fertility Hypnotherapy goes significantly beyond standard relaxation or stress reduction work — working with the subconscious mind, past lives and soul contracts, ancestral and family patterns, forgiveness and release, energetic clearing, and spiritual and vibrational alignment.
Kambo as a Natural Fertility Approach
Kambo is the secretion of the Phyllomedusa bicolor, the Giant Monkey Tree Frog of the Amazon rainforest. It has been used for centuries as part of the traditional ceremonial practices of indigenous Amazonian tribes including the Matses, Katukina, and Mayoruna peoples.
The women of these tribes have long incorporated Kambo into their ceremonial practices around fertility and the welcoming of new life. This is a tradition that has existed for centuries within these communities.
To date sixteen bioactive peptides have been isolated from the Kambo secretion. These compounds have been of significant interest to researchers and pharmaceutical companies worldwide since the 1960s, with over 70 Kambo related peptide patents registered primarily in the USA.
Due to UK advertising regulations we are sadly unable to make specific claims about what Kambo does for fertility specifically. What we can share is that many of the clients who come to us as an alternative to or alongside IVF describe feeling something shift that nothing else had reached. A sense of hope returning. A feeling of moving forward rather than standing still. A renewed connection with their body and their journey.
We are proud to receive photos of our clients with their newborn babies. Many have gone on to have second babies with no issues too.
We invite you to read our client testimonials and make your own judgement.
The Cost Comparison
One of the practical considerations for many people exploring natural alternatives to IVF is cost.
A single IVF cycle in the UK typically costs between £5,000 and £8,000 before additional costs such as medication, embryo storage, and further consultations are added.
The Fertility Boost Programme costs £1,200 for individuals and £2,000 for couples. Conscious Conception Fertility Hypnotherapy costs £497 for a four hour session. Both are available with flexible payment options via Klarna and Clearpay.
Many clients choose to explore our programmes before committing to IVF. Others use them alongside IVF preparation or recovery. Both approaches are valid and both are supported fully by Claire.

A Note on Working Alongside IVF
Many of our clients use our programmes alongside IVF rather than instead of it. The Fertility Boost Programme and Conscious Conception Fertility Hypnotherapy are not in conflict with IVF. In fact many clients find that the work they do with us supports them in approaching their IVF cycle with greater clarity, calm, and physical and emotional readiness.
If you are currently on a medicated cycle or undergoing fertility investigations please let Claire know at the time of booking. She will advise on timing personally.
